The Vermont Sail Freight Project, sponsored by the Willowell Foundation, is a coalition of community members, sailors, farmers and picky consumers working to link the farms and forests of Lake Champlain to the markets in the lower Hudson Valley. This year we will be building and sailing a boat full of produce and value added farm goods from Ferrisburgh, Vermont to New York City on the Hudson River, retracing a historical regional trade route and "foodway."
